Loa belongs to Tai Kadai language family. Loa is also known as Isan language. This language is spoken on large scale in Thailand and this is also the official language of the country. If you are going to Thailand, make sure that Lao is their first and primary language. In addition to this, for some of the people this language is very important for them because there are number of ethnic groups in Isan and In Laos and Lao is used between them as the second language.
Abugida script is used to write Lao language, but it does not have any official standard there. You can find different Vientiane parlances in Thailand.
